Somebody once wrote that Carsulae was the spiritual centre of the Celtic tribes in Italy.
Afterwards, a flourishing Roman city came to light and grew up .
The vast and clear landscape that is possible to admire from the archaeological site, is surely one of the reasons of great fascination, which explains why Carsulae continues to influence the many visitors.
Somebody defined Carsulae as the “Pompei of Umbria.” Like Pompei, Carsulae hides many mysteries.
It is still unclear why this city was built and why it was ignored by the Roman historians. Nevertheless it had to have some importance, due to “the spectacles suburb” still visible nowadays, and the amphitheatre and the theatre, that came to light with the last excavations. But the main suggestive theory says that Carsulae was an entertaining and relaxing city for the legions that went on the way back to Rome after the victorious conquest of Northen Europe.
For us of Bacus Group, this theory like very much, and on this wave we have create the “Carsulae Inn”, a little oasis of calmness, where spend regenerative vacations on the way of physical wellness and discovering nature of incomparable beauty.
It is perfect for groups of friends, for romantic weekends, for a family vacation or for who is travelling for work. Our Inn is also a fantastic start point for a trip to discover the magic of Umbria.
